Thai-style Beef and Mango Salad

 
 
 
Idea came from Traditional Malay and Nyonya cook-extraordinaire, AhMat Gebu of Tiffinbiru ~ Dapur Tanpa Sempadan
Due to unavailability of some ingredients required in the original recipe, I have to make do with what I can find locally.



Thai-style Beef and Mango Salad

200g sirloin steak
salt and pepper

1 mango, remove seed and slice thinly
1 lemon grass, remove the fibrous outer layer and slice thinly
1 small bunch fresh coriander, coarsely chopped
1 small bunch fresh mint, remove stalks
1 onion, thinly sliced


For the sauce, combine all these ingredients;
fish sauce
brown sugar
juice from 1/2 lime
chillie flakes

Rub salt and pepper into beef and roast in an 180C oven for about 10-15 minutes.
Leave it to cool and slice thinly.
