Lemon Poppy Seed Pound Cake

6 1/2 oz butter
3/4 cup sugar
3 tbsp milk
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups flour, sifted
3/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbsp lemon zest
3 tbsp poppy seeds

Lemon syrup
1/4 cup lemon juice
2 tbsp sugar

Preheat oven to 175 C.

In a bowl, combine all the dry ingredients, including lemon zest and poppy seeds, and mix well.

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add in eggs, one at a time, and vanilla.

Using spatula, mix in dry ingredients and milk. Bake for about 40 minutes.

While the cake is still hot, drizzle lemon syrup on top of the cake.
