Apam Yoghurt

No apam is safe from my eagle eyes.

Saw this recipe on Cek De Sam's and Hajar' site.
Since I have all the ingredients, I thought I better give it a go....It looks simple enough and two person can't be wrong....
and they were not....it was delicious and got the two thumbs and a couple of toes up!!

Apam Yoghurt

2 eggs
50 g sugar
150 g yoghurt (I used the non-fat yoghurt drink ....I'm making the effort-la)
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 tbsp corn oil
150 g flour
2 tsp baking powder

Boil water for the steamer.

Whisk eggs together with sugar until light and fluffy. Add in yoghurt, vanilla and oil. Continue whisking until well incorporated.

Sieve baking powder into the flour.
Slowly fold in the flour into the creamy mixture.

Spread mixture equally over the prepared containers and steam for approximately 30 minutes.








While out and about, I found these heritage corns, simply known as blauwe suikermais....blue sweetcorn, to us non-dutch speaking buitenlanders.
How would I describe it ....... they're smaller than the ornery corns, looked as is someone dipped them into an ink vat (might very well be the case)

I had them boiled in salted water.......taste wise, nothing to shout about...a bit denser, slightly chewy texture and not as sweet as some sweetcorn I've tasted.....

Cek De Sam -- Muna suka benda yang pelik.... my family pun "terpaksalah" humour me....sedap tak sedap, telan saja.

Mamasya -- masih setia lagi dengan apam pondan....

Aliza -- You're still in your 1st trimester, kan...... how was it? I was really lazy the first few weeks of pregnancy...Later on, when the nesting instinct kicked in, my hubby called me Spiderman....

Lee Lin -- apam pondan dalam ingatan

Zaza -- cerita sedey....I dropped a very long comment in your site only to be "rejected" ... anyway, I found a recipe for the traditional rice pudding vlaai.....dying to make 'em.

Hajar -- betul tu....tapi isi di dalam masih warna kuning seperti jagung biasa

Masriyah -- walupun saiz lebih kecil dari jagung biasa, jagung ni sangat mengenyangkan.
